In recent days, the community of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus has celebrated two important anniversaries. Father Rafal Czernia SCJ, parish priest of St Mary’s Parish, has celebrated the 25th anniversary of his priestly ordination, while Father Ryszard Mis SCJ has celebrated his 80th birthday.
On Monday, 7 September, the two jubilarians, together with many of their confreres, visited Bishop Raimo. The visit was crowned by a delicious lunch enjoyed in joyful fellowship, during which they reminisced especially about Father Ryszard’s many years in Finland.
Sunday’s festive Mass is covered in a separate article.
