The grand opening of the Diocesan Pastoral Centre and the Catholic Bookshop is approaching (15 May)!
Before that, on the eve of May Day, Bishop Raimo visited the nearly completed premises of the Diocesan Pastoral Centre and the bookshop at Mannerheimintie 90 together with several Church employees, taking an early look at the facilities and solemnly blessing them.
At the beginning of the event, Meisa Dano, Director of the Pastoral Center, opened the gathering, warmly welcomed all guests, and expressed her gratitude to the bishop and to her many colleagues for the work already accomplished. She also looked ahead with enthusiasm to a future in which the Pastoral Center can serve openly and with expertise as a source of help and support for the diocese, all parishes, and Catholics in many different matters.
In his homily, the bishop expressed the hope that the Pastoral Center would always function as a true ecclesial family, working together to make the Lord’s Good News known also throughout Finnish society.
And so it surely will be. One office, where questions from many different fields are addressed, helps to find ever new solutions and also strengthens the sense of working together.
