The Catholic Church’s Jubilee Year of Hope 2025 has come to an end in dioceses around the world. At the level of the universal Church, Pope Leo will close the Holy Door of St Peter’s Basilica and celebrate Mass on the Solemnity of the Epiphany on 6 January 2026.
In Finland, the closing Mass of the Jubilee Year was celebrated at Saint Henry’s Cathedral by Bishop Emeritus Teemu Sippo S.C.I. on the Feast of the Holy Family, 28 December. The Mass began with the Jubilee hymn and concluded with the solemn hymn Te Deum. In his homily, Bishop Sippo emphasized that hope is a sign of faith and remains present even in the difficult moments of life.
