Churches Appeal for Palliative Care

The Catholic Bishop of Helsinki, monsignor Raimo Goyarrola, has signed a joint statement in support of developing palliative care together with Archbishop Elia of the Orthodox Church of Finland and Bishop Teemu Laajasalo of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Helsinki.

In the statement, the three Helsinki bishops explain why it is more important to strengthen good palliative care than to open the door to euthanasia. The statement can be read through the communications channels of the respective churches and on the Fides website.
