Bishop Makes Canonical Visitations in the Parishes Next Spring

Bishop Raimo Goyarrola of Helsinki will carry out the episcopal visitations required by canon law in all parishes next spring.

The visitations will take place in 2026 in the following order: Saint Henry’s Cathedral Parish on 14–15 February, Saint Mary’s Parish on 21–22 February, Holy Cross Parish in Tampere on 14–15 March, Saint Olav’s Parish in Jyväskylä on 28–29 March, Holy Family of Nazareth Parish in Oulu on 18–19 April, Saint Joseph’s Parish in Kuopio on 25–26 April, Saint Ursula’s Parish in Kouvola on 9–10 May, and Saint Bridget’s and Blessed Hemming’s Parish in Turku on 16–17 May.

An episcopal visitation is an inspection personally carried out by the diocesan bishop at least every five years, covering all areas of diocesan life and focusing above all on the pastoral and spiritual care offered by the parishes.

More detailed information about each visitation will be provided by the respective parish.
