The Bishop of Helsinki, Msgr. Raimo Goyarrola, has appointed Father Leonard Wobilla Shwei (b. 1978), who has been serving in Jyväskylä, as chaplain (parochial vicar) of the Holy Cross Parish in Tampere for a three-year term beginning on 1 September 2025. With this appointment, Fr. Wobilla will take responsibility for the parish’s pastoral work in Ostrobothnia (Pohjanmaa): in Vaasa, Pietarsaari, Kokkola, and Seinäjoki. The intention is for Vaasa to become his base of operations. Fr. Wobilla was ordained by Bishop Teemu Sippo S.C.I. of Helsinki in 2016.
