Bishop to lead Catholic Church’s dialogue with the Lutheran World Federation

In April, the Holy See appointed the Bishop of Helsinki Raimo Goyarrola to chair the Catholic side of the so-called Lutheran-Catholic Commission on Unity for dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Lutheran World Federation.

Bishop Raimo says he is surprised by the appointment and considers it above all a recognition of the persistent and mutually respectful ecumenical dialogue that has been going on in Finland for decades. “Thanks for the nomination go to all those involved in ecumenical work in Finland.”
