Pope Francis has approved a miracle attributed to the intercession of Blessed Carlo Acutis and has decided on his canonization. The miracle, confirmed last summer, involves a young woman who recovered from a severe brain injury against medical expectations. In the fall, the pope, together with the College of Cardinals, decided to declare Blessed Carlo a saint.
Blessed Carlo Acutis, who lived from 1991 to 2006, was known for his deep faith and love for the Eucharist, as well as his desire to spread the faith, particularly through digital media. He used his technical skills to create a website showcasing Eucharistic miracles and demonstrated practical charity by helping the poor with his savings. His life and devotion have especially inspired young Catholics around the world.
Carlo Acutis will be canonized during the Holy Year 2025. His canonization marks the official recognition of the first saint of the millennial generation, and his example encourages young people to integrate modern life with deep faith.
