The Bishop’s Greeting for Advent

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

The season of Advent is here once again, inviting us to prepare for the great celebration of Christmas and the beginning of a new Jubilee Year. This special time reminds us that hope and joy are gifts from Christ, sustaining us through all stages of our lives.

The light of the Advent candles tells us that Jesus is always with us—He, the light of the world, illuminates our paths and gives us courage to face the days ahead. His love is eternal, and it is upon this foundation that we can await the future with joy and confidence.

At the same time, Advent calls us to love and serve. Around us are many who need our presence, our listening ear, and our helping hand. May our hearts be open to recognizing the needs of our neighbours, for it is Christ Himself who meets us in each person we help.

I wish you a blessed Advent season. Let us journey together toward the celebration of Christmas and the new Jubilee Year, carried by the hope, joy, and love of Christ.

With prayer and gratitude,

+ Raimo Goyarrola
